Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art, small volume CBCT technology that provides highly accurate, 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of endodontic disease. This allows for a three-dimensional visualization of teeth, bone, sinuses and surrounding structures with minimal radiation to the patient, enabling a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with 2-D technologies (regular dental x-rays). With the addition of CBCT technology to our office, our practice is committed to providing innovative, high-quality endodontic care.

Digital Imaging

Peipei Chang, D.D.S. carefully chooses which radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.

Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Peipei Chang, D.D.S. utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 90 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information. We may be able to see cavities better.

Digital imaging allows us to store patient images and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to your  referring dentist, other specialists or insurance companies.

Operating Microscopes

In addition to digital radiography, we utilize special operating microscopes during your treatment.  This technology allows the endodontist to magnify and illuminate deep into the root canals of  a tooth, often visualizing the source of infection.  The operating microscopes can also be used to record images of your tooth and communicate additional information to your general dentist.

Apex Locators

Apex Locators aid us in determining the length of the root canals during treatment.  This information allows us to complete your procedure efficiently while reducing the number of digital X-rays required for treatment. 

Ultrasonics

Ultrasonic instruments are used in conjunction with microscopes to selectively remove tooth structure or bypass obstructions within the root canal system.

Nickel Titanium Instruments

The extreme elasticity of the nickel titanium instruments allows us to predictably negotiate canals with complex anatomy. 

Bioceramics

A biocompatible material  used for pulpal regeneration, resorption repairs, perforation repairs and root end filling during microsurgical treatment.
